【Abstract】Objective:Analyze the relationship between sleep patterns, serum total cholesterol (TC) levels, depression, anxiety, and cognitive function in first-episode elderly patients with depression. Methods:Select 120 first-episode elderly patients with depression treated in our hospital from March 2022 to March 2024, and use Pearson analysis to investigate the correlation between sleep spindle waves, serum TC levels, depression, anxiety, and cognitive function.Result:According to Pearson analysis, the number of sleep spindle waves in first-episode elderly depression patients was negatively correlated with amplitude, duration, and SAS/SDS scores (P<0.05), and positively correlated with density, TC, and MMSE scores (P<0.05). The amplitude of sleep spindle waves in first-episode elderly depression patients was positively correlated with duration, SAS, and SDS scores (P<0.05), and negatively correlated with density, TC, and MMSE scores (P<0.05). The duration of sleep spindle waves in first-episode elderly depression patients was negatively correlated with density, TC, and MMSE scores (P<0.05), and positively correlated with SAS and SDS scores (P<0.05). The density of sleep spindle waves in first-episode elderly depression patients was positively correlated with TC and MMSE scores (P<0.05), and positively correlated with SAS and SDS scores (P<0.05). There was a negative correlation (P<0.05) between TC and SAS in first-episode elderly patients with depression The SDS score was negatively correlated (P<0.05) and positively correlated with the MMSE score (P<0.05). The SAS score of first-episode elderly depression patients was positively correlated with the SDS score (P<0.05) and negatively correlated with the MMSE score (P<0.05). The SDS score of first-episode elderly depression patients was negatively correlated with the MMSE score (P<0.05).Conclusion:The sleep spindle waves and serum TC levels of first-episode elderly patients with depression are closely related to depression, anxiety, and cognitive function.
