【Abstract】Objective To explore the effect of strengthening social support nursing on the adverse psychological disorder of patients with trigeminal neuralgia. Methods 82 patients with trigeminal neuralgia were selected and divided into observation group and control group according to the random number table method, 41 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine care, the observation group strengthened the social support nursing on the basis of the control group. The social support, self-efficacy, anxiety, depression and quality of life before and after nursing were compared between the two groups. Results There were no significant difference in SSRS overall score, GSES score, SAS score, SDS score and SF-36 overall health score before treatment between the two groups (P > 0.05). The SSRS overall score, GSES score and SF-36 overall health score were significantly higher after nursing in both groups (P < 0.05), while the SAS scores and SDS scores were decreased in both groups (P < 0.05). The SSRS overall score, GSES score and SF-36 overall health score of the observation group [(50.47±3.74) points, (29.79±6.20) points, (79.65±6.56) points]were higher than the control group[(42.60±3.52) points, (20.61±5.11) points, (72.61±5.89) points]. The scores of SAS scores, SDS scores [(28.07±4.08) points, (30.03 ±5.37) points,] in the observation group were significantly lower than the control group [(32.94±5.14) points, (35.17±5.18) points] (all P < 0.05). Conclusion Strengthening social support nursing can take full advantage of social support for patients to provide spiritual strength to alleviate the anxiety and depression of trigeminal neuralgia patients, and to promote their self-efficacy and quality of life to enhance the positive face of disease.
