Objective To observe and analyze the application effect and application value of narrative medicine teaching method in clinical teaching of neurosurgery. Methods A retrospective study method was used to select 40 nursing students who were doing internship in neurosurgery (sample inclusion number: 40 cases; sample inclusion time: September 2023-September 2024). They were divided into two groups, control and experimental, based on the random ball-touching method. The number of observation cases was highly consistent. Conventional teaching and narrative medicine teaching method were implemented respectively. The teaching effect was collected and analyzed. Results Compared with the control group (conventional teaching), the experimental group (narrative medicine teaching method) had a higher comprehensive quality score after teaching (P＜0.05), and the narrative ability, empathy ability score, theoretical knowledge assessment score, and practical operation assessment score after teaching in the experimental group were higher (P＜0.05), and the teaching satisfaction of the experimental group after teaching was higher (P＜0.05). Conclusion Narrative medicine teaching method can effectively improve the quality of clinical teaching, promote the comprehensive quality of nursing students, improve narrative ability and empathy, and improve assessment results, and has high application value.
