[Abstract] Objective: To observe the effect of targeted nursing intervention in patients with brain contusion and laceration and its effect on cognitive impairment. Methods: 108 patients with cerebral contusion and laceration admitted from January 2019 to January 2021 were randomly divided into observation group (54 cases were included, and targeted nursing intervention was added to the control group), control group (54 cases were included, and routine nursing intervention was provided), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), simple intelligence mental state examination scale (MMSE) and International Motor Function Scale (FMA), negative emotion score, short form of Health Survey (SF-36), incidence of adverse events. Results: (1) before intervention, there was no significant difference in NIHSS, MMSE, FMA, negative emotion score and SF-36 between the groups (P>0.05); After 3 months of intervention, NIHSS, MMSE, FMA, negative emotion score and SF-36 were better in the observation group (P < 0.05); (2) The incidence of adverse events in the observation group (3.70%) was lower than that in the control group (18.52%), P < 0.05. Conclusion: targeted nursing intervention for patients with brain contusion and laceration can improve cognitive and neurological functions, reduce negative emotions, improve quality of life and reduce adverse events, which is worthy of promotion.
