【Abstract】Objective To study the effect of department of psychiatric and orthopedics  joint consultation mode on senile patients with fracture postoperative delirium identification rate and hospitalization time. Methods 180 cases of senile patients with fracture who treated in our hospital were selected from January 2015 to December, they were divided into control group and experimental group randomly, each group had 90 cases.Experimental group before the study began by psychiatrists in orthopedic medical staff of mental health knowledge and delirium assessment scale of training, and for the patients in the study group with preoperative and postoperative psychological counseling, the researchers day by insanity identification method (CAM) evaluating the research object, evaluation for delirium shot liaison psychiatrists to assist in the diagnosis and treatment. The control group received routine treatment in Department of orthopedics, psychiatric symptoms after consultation liaison psychiatrist.Results In the experimental group, the consultation rate is 41.11%, while the control group patients consultation rate was only 17.78%, the difference had statistical significance (P < 0.05), after consultation of two groups of patients with delirium, anxiety disorder, depressive episode, mental illness of the rate of diagnosis, the difference had no statistical significance (P > 0.05). Delirium patients in the experimental group recognition rate was 31.11%, the control group of patients with delirium identification rate was 11.11%. The patients in experimental group had a shorter hospital stay (P < 0.05).Conclusion Psychiatric consultation.the can improve the recognition rate of delirium in elderly hip fracture after operation, shorten the hospitalization time.
