Objective　To explore the relationship of the incidence of geriatric depression and factors of socialsupport and body disease. Methods　50 patients with geriatric depression who were diagnosed in our hospital from May2014 to May 2015 were selected as the case group，50 old people without depression were selected as the control group.Social support and the body disease of both groups were evaluated and compared. Results　The incidence of social sup-port，living along and worryabout the children in the case group is significantly higher than these in the control group（P <0.05），the case group often have less communication with relatives or friends，less friends can trust，less help toget than the control group （P <0.05）.Logistic regression analysis showed that living alone，having friends to be trustedor not，worrying about their children，communication with family members and friends are all the influence factors ofsenile depression （P <0.05）；on the aspect of body disease， the heart disease ，stroke or hemiplegia in the case groupare significantly higher than that in the control group （P <0.05）. Conclusion　Living alone，worry about their chil-dren，less trusted friends and less communication with　relatives and friends are the risk factors of geriatric depres-sion，and the heart disease ，stroke or hemiplegia are also risk factors for geriatric depression.
