Objective　To explore the clinical effects of comprehensive intervention combined with drug therapyon the elderly patients with depression. Methods　80 cases of elderly patients with depression were selected and ran-domly divided into the observation group （n =40）and the control group （n =40）. The observation group was treated bycomprehensive intervention combined with citalopram，thecontrol group was treated by citalopram. Two groups of pa-tients were treated for 12 weeks. The Hamilton Depression Rating Scale （HAMD）score，the Quality of Life Index Test（SF-36），the total incidence rate and adverse reaction were respective compared between two groups. Results　Beforetreatment，there were no significant difference in HAMD scoresand SF-36 scoresbetween two groups（P >0.05）. Aftertreatment，HAMD score of the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group （P >0.05），andthe SF-36 score of the observation group is significantly higher than that in the control group（P >0.05）. The total inci-dence rate of the observation group is significantly higher than that in the control group（P >0.05），the adverse reactionof the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group （P >0.05）. Conclusion　The effect of thecomprehensive intervention combined with citalopram in treatment of the elderly patients with depression is better thanthat treat with citalopram alone.
