[Abstract] Objective To explore the impact of cognitive function and psychological factors on the prognosis of chronic heart failure in the elderly. Methods A total of 144 elderly patients with chronic heart failure who were treated in our hospital from January 2018 to January 2020 were selected as the research objects. Cognitive function, anxiety, and depression at discharge were assessed. The New York College of Cardiology (NYHA) heart function classification, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), age and other general information were recorded, and the average follow-up was (25.23±3.54) months. According to whether there are adverse cardiovascular events, it is set as a good prognosis group and a poor prognosis group. According to single-factor and multi-factor analysis to investigate the influence of the above data on the prognosis of chronic heart failure in the elderly. Results During the follow-up period, 42 of the 144 patients had adverse cardiovascular events. There were statistically significant differences in the good prognosis group and the combination of poor prognosis with cognitive dysfunction, anxiety disorder, depression, age, LVEF, and NYHA (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in disease type and gender between the two groups (P>0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that combined cognitive dysfunction, combined anxiety disorder, combined depressive disorder, age>80 years old, LVEF<30%, NYHA grade IV are the influencing factors for the prognosis of elderly chronic heart failure. Conclusion Elderly chronic heart failure is prone to adverse cardiovascular events, combined with cognitive dysfunction, anxiety, depression, heart function, age and other important factors affecting the prognosis of patients.
