Objective To analyze and study the effect of Fuzi Lizhong Decoction in the treatment of hiccups with spleen and stomach disease. Methods Using the random number table method, 68 patients with spleen and stomach disease hiccups admitted to our hospital from March 2020 to March 2021 were divided into groups. One group was the reference group (n=34), and this group received conventional western medicine treatment. The other group was the experimental group (n=34). This group was treated with Fuzi Lizhong Decoction on the basis of conventional western medicine treatment. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were evaluated by the treatment efficiency, the time of hiccups, the number of attacks, and the score of hiccups at different times. Results The effective rate of treatment in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the reference group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was little difference in the time of hiccups and the number of attacks between the two groups, which could not meet the statistical significance (P>0.05). After treatment, the time and frequency of hiccups in the experimental group were significantly shorter/less than those in the reference group (P<0.05). The scores of hiccup symptoms in the experimental group at 3, 5 and 10 days after treatment were lower than those in the reference group (P<0.05). Conclusion The treatment effect of Fuzi Lizhong Decoction in the treatment of hiccups with spleen-stomach disease is definite, which can promote the therapeutic effect of the patients, improve the symptoms of hiccups, and has good treatment safety. This treatment method is worthy of clinical application.
