Objective to explore the real psychological experience of patients with hematological malignancy during the first chemotherapy, so as to provide reference for clinical nurses to provide psychological support for patients. Methods Using qualitative description method, in-depth interviews, on-site recordings and transcripts were conducted on 15 subjects, and Colaizzi analysis program was used to analyze, sort out and refine themes. Results The psychological experience of patients with hematologic malignancies undergoing chemotherapy for the first time was summarized into four themes: complex psychological experience, information needs, heavy economic pressure, and expectations of medical staff. Conclusions Patients with hematologic malignancies undergoing chemotherapy for the first time need deep humanistic care and emotional support, and pay attention to patients feelings and inner experience, which can provide basis for targeted health education and nursing measures, so as to achieve the purpose of improving the quality of life of patients with hematologic malignancies during the first chemotherapy.
