Objective:To observe and explore the efficacy and safety of venlafaxine combined with ligustrazine injection, ginkgo dipyridolum injection and naoxinqing tablet in the treatment of senile depression. Methods: 91 senile depression patients of June 2014 to December 2015 were viewed as research objects and randomly divided into observation group (46 cases) and the control group (45 cases), the control group were treated with venlafaxine for 8 weeks, based on which the observation group was given ligustrazine injection(120 mg/d for 12 days), ginkgo dipyridolum injection (20ml/d for 12 days) and naoxinqing tablet (6 tablets/d for 8 weeks) treatment, after treatment for 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 weeks Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD24) was introduced to assess treatment condition, and focuses on the analysis of anxiety / somatization factor score, after treatment for 8 weeks, clinical efficacy and safety were evaluated. Results: With prolongation of treatment time, two groups of HAMD24 score and anxiety / somatization factor score decreased gradually. Observation group with HAMD24 score after 1 week’s treatment (27.7±4.0vs.31.4±6.1) and 2 weeks’ treatment (22.2±5.4vs.27.0±4.5) were significantly lower than the control group (p< 0.05), other observation points with no significant differences on HAMD24 scores between the two groups (p> 0.05). Anxiety / somatization factor score after treatment for 1 week of observation group (7.6±1.9 vs.8.4±2.0) was significantly lower than control group (p< 0.05). After 8 weeks’ treatment, the total effective ratio (87% vs. 80%) and adverse reaction incidence (39.1%vs.31.1%) of observation group were both slightly higher than the control group, the differences with no statistically significant (p>0.05). Conclusion: Venlafaxine monotherapy and combination of traditional Chinese medicine in treatment of senile depression both have good efficacy and safety; and the latter has a more rapid action.
