[Abstract] Objective To investigate the impacts of care intervention on occurrance of delivery risk events and maternal and neonatal outcomes of pregnant women patients with maternal mental illness. Methods 80 cases of pregnant women patients with maternal mental illness who were treated in our hospital from April 2014 to April 2016 were randomly selected, these patients were divided into care intervention group (n = 40) and usual care group (n = 40) two groups according to the care methods, the delivery risk events and maternal and neonatal outcomes of the two groups were statistically analyzed. Results The occurrance rate of delivery risk events of the care intervention group 7.5% (3/40) was significantly lower than the usual care group 22.5% (9/40) (P <0.05), the proportions of natural childbirth, full-term newborns, Apgar score 8-10 min were significantly higher (P <0.05), the proportions of artificial midwifery, cesarean section, the incidences of pain, postpartum hemorrhage, infection, poor wound healing, the proportions of premature birth, fetal growth restriction, Apgar score 4 points 4-7 points were significantly lower than the usual care group (P <0.05). Conclusion Care intervention can effectively reduce delivery risk events, improve maternal and neonatal outcomes of pregnant women patients with maternal mental illness.
