| Abstract |
Co-occurring disorders is defined as substance use disorders occuring with psychiatric disorders.In patients with co-occurring disorders，there should be at least one sort of substance use disorders and at least one sort of psychiatric disorders simultaneously.Its causes are very complicated，involving Individual factors, biological factors and environmental factors.Among them,the role of individual factors is crucial.Personality trait of impulsivity is considered closely linked with psychiatric disorders due to drug addiction,club-drug use,initial drug experimentation,continuing drug use and relapses and so on.Among all of the co-occurring disorders,imulsivity is a factor,which is common and pivotal.Impulsivity related to the substance addiction can mainly be divided into two dimensions:"reward drive"and"rash impulsivity",according to reinforcement sensitivity theory of Gary,"reward drive" refers to the situation when individuals obtain or get close to their preferred stimulus,there may be differences about their sensitivity, "rash impulsivity" means that individuals can not evaluate the value of stimulus properly before they make a decision.The researchers summarize three kinds of assumptions:(1)Psychiatric disorders have prompted the formation of substance use disorders;(2)Substance use disorders lead to the formation of Psychiatric disorders;(3)Substance use disorders or psychiatric disorders are caused by other common factors.This three assumptions can be summarized as "theory of causality" and "theory of common factor"."Theory of causality" gets supports from experiments on animals and human,and "theory of common factor" Mainly discusses the influence of the two factors of personal experience and living environment.At present, researchers deem that co-occurring disorders are the results of interaction of substance use disorders,psychiatric disorders and other common factor that impact both of them.In further studies,we should pay attention to the advancement of polydrug abuse,club-drug abuse and cross-sectional studies on co-occurring disorders to promote practicability and accuracy of experiments，hoping to get a more complete research conclusion.
