Abstract Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of escitalopram oxalate combined with hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in treating menopausal depression withprehypertension..Methods:A total of 82 menopausal women with depression and prehypertension in our hospital between January 2014 to December 2015 were collected, all were divided into observation group and control group by computer random method, 41 patients in each group. The control group received HRT,the observation group received escitalopram oxalate therapy on the basis of control group, the blood pressure levels and Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) scores before and after treatment, the antidepressant effect and medication adverse reactions of the two groups were compared. Results: After treatment, the 24hSBP, 24hDBP, 24hSSD and 24hDSD in the two groups were significantly lower (P<0.05 ),and the observation group were statistically lower than that in the control group(P<0.05);The blood pressure returned to normal rate was 90.24% in the observation group, significantly higher than 41.46% in the control group (P<0.05);The antidepressant total effective rate was 95.12% in the observation group, significantly higher than 78.05% in the control group (P<0.05); After treatment 2 weeks, 4 weeks and 8 weeks, the HAMD scores in the two groups were significantly lower than before treatment(P<0.05), and it in the observation sgroup was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05);The adverse reactions rate was 12.20% in the observation group,it was no significant difference with 7.32% in the control group (P>0.05). Conclusion: Escitalopram oxalate combined with HRT in treatment of depression of menopausal women with prehypertension can improve the antidepressant effect, reduce the blood pressure fluctuations, it has great value to promote blood pressure returned to normal.
