Objective To explore the effect of nursing combined with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) fumigation and washing on limb numbness caused by oxaliplatin after CAPEOX chemotherapy in colorectal cancer patients. Methods Fifty patients with limb numbness after CAPEOX chemotherapy for colorectal cancer, who were admitted to our hospital from April 2024 to March 2026, were selected as the research subjects. Fifty patients were divided into two groups for comparative analysis, with 25 cases in the control group (given routine nursing intervention) and 25 cases in the observation group (Combined with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation and washing treatment on the basis of routine nursing intervention). The intervention effects of the two groups were compared. Results The observation group had lower scores of limb numbness symptoms, better improvements in quality of life and neurotoxicity grading, and significantly lower levels of tumor markers than the control group (P < 0.05). The adverse reaction rates of the two groups were similar (P > 0.05). Conclusion Traditional Chinese medicine fumigation and washing combined with nursing can effectively improve limb numbness caused by oxaliplatin after CAPEOX chemotherapy for colorectal cancer, reduce peripheral neurotoxicity, control tumor markers and improve quality of life, which has high clinical application prospects.
