Objective To analyze the application effect of rapid rehabilitation-based nursing in the care of patients undergoing outpatient pterygium excision surgery. Methods A retrospective cohort study design was employed, selecting 120 patients who underwent outpatient pterygium excision combined with autologous limbal stem cell transplantation in the ophthalmology department of our hospital from January 2023 to June 2024 as the study subjects. Based on different nursing protocols, the patients were divided into a conventional nursing group (control group) and a rapid rehabilitation nursing group (observation group). Results The VAS scores of the observation group at 6h, 12h, and 24h postoperatively were significantly lower than those of the control group, while the SAS scores and complication rates at 24h postoperatively were also lower, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). The corneal epithelial healing rate and patient nursing satisfaction scores in the observation group at 1 week postoperatively were significantly higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of rapid rehabilitation nursing in outpatient pterygium excision surgery can effectively alleviate postoperative pain, reduce anxiety, and lower the risk of complications.
