Objective To explore the effect of using a birthing ball combined with free position labor care on the labor process and delivery outcomes in primiparous women. Methods: A total of 40 primiparous women who gave birth in our hospital from May 2024 to May 2025 were selected for this study. According to the order of admission, they were divided into a control group and an experimental group, with 20 cases in each group. The control group received standard labor care, while the experimental group used a birthing ball combined with free position labor. The labor process, delivery outcomes, and pain levels of the two groups were compared. Results: With different interventions provided to the two groups, the labor process in the experimental group was shorter (p<0.05). In terms of pain levels, the experimental group experienced less pain (p<0.05). When assessing delivery outcomes, the experimental group showed better results (p<0.05). Conclusion: Providing primiparous women with labor care using a birthing ball combined with free positioning can shorten the labor process, reduce pain, and improve delivery outcomes. This approach is worthy of recommendation.
