Objective To analyze the application effect of the “knowledge-belief-action” communication model in the training of intern nurses in the ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and stomatology departments. Methods A total of 110 full-time undergraduate nurses who were on internship in the ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and stomatology departments of our hospital from July 2024 to April 2025 were selected as the research subjects. Using the random grouping method, the theoretical and operational scores at the time of discharge, as well as communication ability and satisfaction scores were compared. Results At the time of discharge, the theoretical and operational scores, as well as communication ability and patient satisfaction scores of the experimental group all demonstrated advantages (P < 0.05). Conclusion Applying the “knowledge-belief-action” communication model in the training of intern nurses in the ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and stomatology departments can improve the theoretical knowledge level, operational skills, and communication ability of the nurses.
