Objective To explore the value of comprehensive rehabilitation nursing in the awakening treatment process of long-term comatose patients with severe traumatic brain injury. Methods The research samples were all sourced from our hospital and selected from March 2023 to March 2024. A total of 86 patients with severe traumatic brain injury who were in a long-term coma required awakening treatment. According to the average admission time of patients, 43 patients in the control group received routine awakening treatment from March 2023 to August 2023, and 43 patients in the observation group received comprehensive rehabilitation nursing mode from September 2023 to March 2024. The CRS-R scores, incidence of adverse events, and compliance rates of the two groups of patients under different treatment methods were compared. Results The CRS-R score of the observation group patients was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05); The incidence of adverse events in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05); The treatment compliance of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The use of comprehensive rehabilitation nursing can play an important role in the awakening treatment process of long-term comatose patients with severe traumatic brain injury, helping patients enhance their awareness in all aspects, reduce the incidence of adverse events, and improve their treatment compliance rate. It is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
