Objective To investigate the implementation value and efficacy of risperidone treatment in patients with schizophrenia. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 100 schizophrenia patients diagnosed and treated in primary healthcare institutions from January 2025 to December 2025. Patients were divided into a control group (n=50) and an observation group (n=50) based on admission sequence. The control group received aminoglutethimide therapy, while the observation group received risperidone therapy. Clinical outcomes including overall treatment efficacy rate, psychiatric symptom scores, and medication adherence were compared between groups. Results The observation group demonstrated higher clinical efficacy rates and medication adherence, with significant improvements in positive symptoms, negative symptoms, general psychopathological symptoms, and total symptom scores. All intergroup comparisons showed statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusion Risperidone demonstrates efficacy in improving psychiatric symptoms, enhancing treatment outcomes and medication adherence in primary healthcare settings for schizophrenia management. Its compatibility with local clinical practices, high safety profile, and accessibility make it worthy of widespread adoption in primary healthcare institutions.
