Abstract： Objective To explore clinical effects of psychological nursing on patients with post stroke depression. Methods 157 inpatients with post stroke depression in our hospital between May 201 3 and October 2015 were randomly divided into the intervention group and the control group．Patients in the control group were treated with conventional treatment and care measures while patients in the intervention group were treated with psychological nursing intervention besides conventional care．Hamilton Depression Scale, Neurological Deficit Score and Activity of daily livings were compared between the two groups before and after the psychological nursing intervention. Degree of satisfaction with nursing was also compared. Results The number of the intervention group and the control group was 80 and 77, respectively. Hamilton Depression Scale, Neurological Deficit Score and Activity of daily livings in the intervention group were statistically significant than those in the control group. Degree of satisfaction with nursing was also higher than that in the control group. Conclusions Patients subjected to psychological nursing performed better than those without psychological nursing in Hamilton Depression Scale, Neurological Deficit Score and Activity of daily livings and had higher degree of satisfaction with nursing. Psychological nursing is worthy clinical promotion.
