Objective To analyze the rehabilitative value of inpatient psychiatric rehabilitation therapy for patients with schizophrenia. Methods Among 60 long-term hospitalized psychiatric patients admitted to the Department of Psychiatry of Zilang Hospital in Nantong from April 2024 to January 2025, 30 were assigned to the control group (olanzapine+zopiclone) and 30 to the observation group (augmented withpatient psychiatric rehabilitation therapy including occupational therapy). The symptom and insight scores before and after treatment, the anti-social function score after treatment, the ADL self-care ability score, and the MoCA assessment score were compared between the two groups of patients. Results After treatment, the PANSS positive and negative symptom scores were lower in the observation, suggesting that the symptoms of schizophrenia in the observation group improved. The ITAQ insight scores were higher in the observation group, suggesting that the attitude and insight of the observation group were. Moreover, after treatment, the anti-social function scores of the observation group patients were lower, the ADL self-care ability scores were lower, and the MoCA assessment were higher, suggesting that the anti-social behaviors and self-care and cognitive abilities of the observation group patients were improved. The comparison was statistically significant (P < 0.5). Conclusion Inpatient psychiatric rehabilitation therapy can improve the positive symptoms of schizophrenia patients, enhance insight, and achieve remission of anti-social behaviors. Moreover, in psychiatric rehabilitation therapy can promote patients' cognitive improvement and self-care ability enhancement, and reduce the pressure of medical staff.
