Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of using irbesartan combined with nifedipine controlled-release tablets in the treatment of hypertension patients. Methods This study selected 60 hypertension patients who received treatment in our hospital's outpatient department from January 2024 to December 2025. The subjects were divided into groups using the random number table method, with a total of 30 patients in each group. The control group was given nifedipine controlled-release tablets alone, while the observation group was treated with the irbesartan combined with nifedipine controlled-release tablet regimen. The final therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared and analyzed. Results After treatment, the improvement effect of blood pressure levels in the observation group was significantly better than that in the control group, the total treatment effective rate was significantly higher than that in the control group, and the incidence of adverse drug reactions was lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Timely treatment of hypertension patients with the irbesartan combined with nifedipine controlled-release tablet regimen can further improve the clinical therapeutic effect and medication safety, ensure that blood pressure levels are controlled within a reasonable range, and reduce the harmfulness of the disease.
