[Abstract]Objective: To investigate the effect of continuing nursing intervention on disease cognition status of relatives of patients with bipolar depression and dysfunctional attitudes of the patients. Methods: A total of 82 discharged patients at remission stage of bipolar depression admitted to our hospital were selected and randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 41 cases in each group. Patients and their relatives of the control group were performed conventional discharge instruction for mental illness, and those of the observation group were performed continuing nursing intervention. After follow-up visit for 8 weeks, the disease cognition status of the relatives and dysfunctional attitudes of the patients were compared. Results: After 8 weeks of intervention, the item scores of disease cognition status of relatives of patients in the observation group were significantly higher than in the control group (p<0.01); the dimension scores of dysfunctional attitudes of patients in the observation group were significantly lower than in the control group(p<0.01). Conclusion:Continuing nursing intervention can effectively enhance the level of disease cognition of relatives of patients with bipolar depression, and further improve the dysfunctional attitudes of the patients.
