[Abstract] Objective: To explore the application effect of Orem nursing mode on acute mental disorders after hip fracture surgery in elderly patients. Methods: in our hospital from January 2015 -2016 year in January 92 cases of patients with acute mental disorders in elderly hip fracture patients after medical records, using the computer randomly divided into 2 groups, 46 patients in the control group received conventional rehabilitation nursing mode, the observation group of 46 patients, Orem nursing mode, application of SCL-90 symptom checklist assessment to improve the patients psychological, and compare the two groups of postoperative complications. Results: the patients in the observation group of terror, anxiety and depression, somatization, interpersonal relationship and total score were better than the control group (P<0.05); to observe the postoperative complication rate (8.70%) than in the control group (19.57%), P<0.05. Conclusion: the effect of Orem nursing care model for elderly patients with acute mental disorders after hip fracture surgery is better, improve the psychological status of patients, promote the early recovery of patients, it is worth recommending.
