[Abstract] Objective To investigate the relationship between depression, anxiety and sleep quality, heart rate variability (HRV) in elderly patients with arrhythmia. Methods A total of 160 cases of elderly patients with arrhythmia were collected, all were assessed with HAMA and HAMD scale, then divided into group A (complicated anxiety,40 cases), group B (complicated depression,48 cases), group C (complicated anxiety and depression,35 cases),group D (without anxiety or depression), healthy subjects were E group (40 cases). The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and HRV threshold parameters were assessed and compared between the groups. Results The scores of HAMA, HAMD and PSQI in group A, B, C,D were significantly higher than those in group E (P<0.05), and those in group A, B ,C were significantly higher than group D (P<0.05), group C were significantly higher than group A, B (P<0.05);The HRV threshold parameters (RMSSD, PNM50, SDNN and SDANN) in group A, B, C,D were significantly lower than those in group E (P<0.05), and those in group A, B ,C were significantly lower than group D (P<0.05),the SDNN and SDANN in group C were significantly lower than group A, B (P<0.05); There was a significant positive correlation of anxiety, depression, anxiety complicated depression with PSQI (P<0.05), and significant negative correlation with HRV threshold parameters (P<0.05). Conclusion Elderly patients with arrhythmia prevalence of anxiety and depression, anxiety and depression can decrease the sleep quality and HRV, it lies the injure of autonomic nervous system and affects the clinical prognosis.
