【Abstract】 Objective Analyze the impact of medical empathy ward rounds on anxiety and depression in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) complicated by heart failure.Methods 126 patients with COPD and heart failure were selected and randomly divided into a control group (n=63) and an observation group (n=63) using a random number table method. The control group received routine medical ward rounds, while the observation group received medical empathy ward rounds. Compare the treatment compliance and Self rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), Self rating Depression Scale (SDS), satisfaction with healthcare, and WHO Quality of Life Scale Brief Form Questionnaire (WHOQOL-BREF) scores between two groups of patients.Results The excellent rate of treatment compliance in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group, with statistical differences (P<0.05). Compared with the control group after intervention, the observation group had lower SAS and SDS scores, and higher scores in all dimensions of medical satisfaction and WHOQOL-BREF (all P<0.05).Conclusion The medical empathy ward rounds model can significantly alleviate anxiety and depression in COPD patients with heart failure, improve treatment compliance, nursing satisfaction, and quality of life.
