[Abstract] Objective: To explore the value of behavioral cognitive therapy in the treatment of patients with depression and anxiety. Methods: From January 2022 to October 2023, 82 patients diagnosed with depression and anxiety were selected and divided into 2 groups by random number table method. The control group received mirtazapine treatment, and the observation group received behavioral cognitive therapy. The anti-anxiety and anti-depression effects of the two groups were analyzed, and the psychological status and sleep quality were compared. Results: The antidepressant effect of observation group was higher than that of control group (P<0.05). The anti-anxiety effect was higher than that of control group (P<0.05). The scores of Hamilton Depression Scale 17 (HAMD) and Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) in the observation group were lower than those in the control group at 2, 4 and 8 weeks after treatment (P<0.05); The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group at 2, 4 and 8 weeks after treatment (P<0.05). Conclusion: Behavioral cognitive therapy is effective in the treatment of depression and anxiety, and can improve the sleep quality of patients.
