【Abstract】Objective To investigate the gender differences and correlation between clinical data and changes in glucose and lipid levels before and after treatment in patients with bipolar disorder(BD).Methods Collect 78 and 37 male and 37 female BD patients, and analyze their clinical data and glucose lipid indicators. Results There were statistically significant differences in hospitalization days, psychiatric symptoms, triglyceride, High-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL), and antidepressant use between the two groups before treatment (P<0.05); Before and after treatment, there was a statistically significant difference in the levels of HDL between the two groups (P<0.05); Spearman correlation analysis by gender grouping showed a negative correlation between the increasing of glucose and mood stabilizer use (r=-0.40, P<0.01) in males, while the change of Glycosylated serum protein(GSP) was positively correlated with age (r=0.23, P=0.04) and course of disease (r=0.24, P=0.04). Among women, the change of GSP was negatively correlated with years of education (r=-0.40, P=0.01), the difference of glycosylated hemoglobin was negatively correlated with antidepressant use (r=-0.44, P<0.01), and the increasing of TC was positively correlated with years of education (r=0.36, P=0.03). Conclusion There are gender differences in the changes in glucose and lipid levels and related factors in BD patients before and after treatment.
