[Abstract] Objective: To analyze the risk factors of cognitive impairment in elderly patients with cerebral infarction and the intervention of mecobalamine. Methods: From January 2010 to January 2015, 310 patients were chosen as study objects, the clinical data were compared between CI and NCI patients, and the risk factors of cognitive impairment were analyzed. The CI rate were compared between patient treated with mecobalamine or not, and the intervention of mecobalamine was analyzed. Results: 107 patients (34.52%) were diagnosed with cognitive impairment (CI). Age, duration of education (≤6 years), diabetes, left infarction, large area infarction, leukoarailosis, IL-6 and UA were risk factors of cognitive impairment(P<0.05). 28 patients (19.72%) treated with mecobalamine and 79 patients (47.02%) who were not were diagnosed with CI, the difference had statistical significance(χ2=24.192,P<0.05).After adjustment of age, duration of education, diabetes, left infarction, large area infarction, leukoarailosis, IL-6 and UA use of mecobalamine was significantly related to cerebral impairment(P<0.05).Conclusion: Cognitive impairment in elderly patients is related to multiple factors, and mecobalamine could help improve cognitive function.
