Abstract
This article takes the textile-related chapters of " Records of Artificers (Kao Gong Ji)" as an example, combines the theory of cultural translation, and through the comparison of two translation versions by Chinese and foreign translators, explores the cultural characteristics of traditional textile technology texts and the translation and dissemination strategies in the context of global narrative of contemporary Chinese discourse. The research finds that although " Records of Artificers " is a technical narrative, it carries philosophical and social order symbols such as "the unity of heaven and man". The cultural translation of traditional textile technology texts needs to follow the principle of "technical-cultural dual adaptation", and through translation strategies such as cultural context reconstruction and cultural gene decoding, achieve effective understanding by global audiences on the basis of retaining cultural essence. The research reveals that cultural translation puts forward higher requirements for the quality of translators, who need to have both technical professional knowledge and cross-cultural communication awareness.
