【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the efficacy of escitalopram in treatment of stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (sCOPD) accompanied with depression and its influence on the exercise cardio-pulmonary function.Methods 78 sCOPD patients accompanied with depression were randomly divided into two groups: the control group (n=39) was given conventional therapy,the observation group (n=39) was given escitalopram on the basis of control group. The scores of Hamilton Depression- Anxiety Scale (HAMD,HAMA),Dyspnea Rating Scale (MRC) and COPD Disease Testing (CAT), the test results of 6 min-walking-distance (6MWD), resting lung function and Cardiopulmonary Exercise Test (CPET) between the two groups were compared.Results After 6 months of treatment, the scores of HAMD, HAMA, MRC and CAT in observation group were significantly lower than before treatment and these in control group (P<0.05),while the test results of 6MWD, FEV1,FEV1%pred,FEV1/FVC and CPET in observation group were significantly higher than before treatment and these in control group (P<0.05).Conclusion Escemedipramine can relieve anxiety and depression of sCOPD patients accompanied with depression,and improve their exercise cardio-pulmonary function.
