In recent years, China has issued a series of key documents to strengthen international legal development, elevating the cultivation of international legal professionals to a national strategic priority. This provides a historic opportunity for western regional universities to "overtake on the curve." Taking Province G as an example, this paper highlights its achievements in international law undergraduate education, hosting international legal forums, and collaborating with practical departments. However, challenges remain: insufficient regional distinctiveness leading to homogenization, limited numbers failing to meet local needs, and difficulties in talent recruitment coupled with severe brain drain. The pain points in cultivating international legal professionals in Province G mirror those of western regional universities. Therefore, this paper proposes pathways for these institutions to establish a collaborative ecosystem for international legal talent development. This involves joint construction and sharing of theoretical teaching, practical platforms, project collaborations, training resources, and international exchanges. By offering preferential policies for inter-university further education, it aims to retain locally trained professionals who can contribute to regional legal development.
