[Abstract] Objective To explore the application value of WeChat follow-up intervention in community continued nursing of patients with schizophrenia after discharge. Methods 80 cases of patients with schizophrenia treated in our hospital from May 2014 to February 2016 were enrolled in the study. They were divided into the control group and the experimental group by random number table method. Both groups were given community continued nursing intervention. The control group were given traditional methods of health education and telephone follow-up, while the experimental group were additionally given WeChat follow-up intervention. After the nursing intervention, the compliance behaviors, nursing effects, recurrence rate and quality of life [the Schizophrenia Quality of Life Scale (SQLS) score] in the two groups were observed. Results There was no significant difference in anxiety and depression, lack of energy, thought disorders, activation, hostility suspicion score and SQLS score between the two groups before the nursing intervention (P > 0.05). After the nursing intervention, the scores of diet, emotion management, moderate exercise, medication compliance and regular follow-up of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P < 0.05). After the nursing intervention, the scores of anxiety and depression, lack of vitality, thought disorders, activation, hostility suspicion and SQLS of the two groups were significantly lower than those before nursing intervention, and the decrease was more significant in the experimental group than the control group (P < 0.05). 1 year after nursing intervention, the recurrence rate was significantly lower in the experimental group than the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion The application of WeChat follow-up intervention in community continued nursing of patients with schizophrenia after discharge can significantly improve patients’ medication compliance, and effectively relieve the clinical symptoms. It can reduce the recurrence rate and improve the quality of life of patients.
