Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy of steel plate internal fixation and conservative treatment in patients with multiple rib fractures caused by chest trauma. Methods 98 patients with multiple rib fractures admitted to our hospital from June 2023 to June 2025 were selected and divided into an internal fixation group and a conservative group according to the treatment method. Results The VAS score of the internal fixation group after surgery was significantly lower than that of the conservative group, and the average hospitalization time of the internal fixation group was also significantly shorter than that of the conservative group. Moreover, FEV₁%, FVC%, and SF-36 score at 6 months were significantly better than those of the conservative group in multiple dimensions (P<0.05). Conclusion The combination of steel plate internal fixation and rapid rehabilitation process can effectively alleviate pain, shorten hospitalization time, and provide a more advantageous treatment option for patients with multiple rib fractures.
