Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of high-quality nursing care in metformin combined with liraglutide therapy for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) with obesity. Methods This study analyzed T2DM patients with obesity admitted to our hospital from January 2024 to January 2025. Eligible patients were divided into a control group (100 cases) and an observation group, with the control group receiving standard care and the observation group receiving enhanced nursing care. The effectiveness of these interventions was compared through recording and analyzing data on blood glucose levels, body mass index (BMI), body fat percentage, treatment adherence, and quality of life. Results Post-intervention analysis showed that both fasting blood glucose, 2-hour postprandial glucose, and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels were significantly lower in the observation group compared to the control group. The observation group also demonstrated lower BMI and body fat percentage levels than the control group. Treatment adherence was higher in the observation group than the control group, and quality of life scores were higher in the observation group. Significant differences were observed in all metrics between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion The combination of metformin and liraglutide with high-quality nursing care for T2DM with obesity patients resulted in marked improvements in blood glucose and body weight control, along with significant enhancements in treatment adherence and quality of life. This approach demonstrates clinical applicability and holds therapeutic value.
