Objective To analyze the role and effect of postoperative follow-up in continuing nursing care after DJ tube placement in urology. Methods Sixty patients aged 30-45 years who underwent DJ tube placement surgery in the urology department of our hospital from May 2024 to May 2025 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group, with 30 patients in each group, using a random number table method. The control group received routine continuing care, while the experimental group received postoperative follow-up on the basis of routine continuing care. Compare the incidence of complications, nursing satisfaction, and quality of life scores between two groups of patients. Results The incidence of complications in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05); The nursing satisfaction of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05); The scores of various dimensions of quality of life in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Implementing postoperative follow-up in the continued care of DJ catheter placement in urology can reduce the incidence of complications, improve nursing satisfaction and patient quality of life, and has important clinical application value.
