Objective To explore the practical application effect and clinical value of preventive pressure ulcer nursing interventions in elderly and critically ill patients. Methods In this study, 84 elderly and critically ill patients admitted to our hospital were included as study subjects. The study subjects were divided into control group (42 cases, with routine care) and study group (42 cases, with preventive pressure ulcer care interventions). The nursing effect of the two groups was compared. Results Compared with the control group, the length of hospital stay was significantly reduced in the study group, and the probability of pressure ulcer occurrence in this group was at a low level. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion In the process of clinical treatment, the implementation of preventive pressure ulcer care for elderly and severe patients can not only reduce the incidence of pressure ulcers, but also further shorten the hospitalization period of patients, which has a positive effect on promoting the early recovery of patients.
