Objective To study effective nursing plans for elderly patients undergoing hip arthroplasty during the perioperative period. Methods A total of 200 elderly patients who underwent hip replacement surgery from January 2024 to December 2024 were selected as the analysis subjects, and were divided into two groups by random number, namely, general nursing group and special nursing group. The hip joint function recovery, psychological status and adverse reactions of patients were statistically analyzed. Results The hip joint function scores of patients in the specialized nursing group were significantly higher than those in the general nursing group at 15 days, 30 days, and 60 days postoperatively (p<0.05). Before the intervention, no significant difference was observed in psychological status scores between the two groups (p>0.05). After the intervention, the specialized nursing group showed better outcomes in psychological assessments, including reduced anxiety, depression, interpersonal issues, and obsessive tendencies, compared to the general nursing group (p<0.05). Conclusion The combination of Enhanced recovery after surgery and traditional Chinese medicine characteristic nursing can better promote patients' physical recovery and is worth promoting and applying.
