Objective To explore the application effect of humanistic care nursing in patients with chronic liver disease in the infectious disease department, and analyze its improvement effect on patients' treatment compliance, psychological status, and quality of life. Methods Sixty patients with chronic liver disease admitted to the Infectious Diseases Department of our hospital from June 2024 to September 2025 were randomly divided into two groups using a random number table method. The control group received routine nursing care, while the observation group received systematic humanistic care on the basis of routine nursing care. The treatment compliance, psychological status, self-efficacy, and quality of life of the two groups were compared. Results The MMAS-8 and GSES scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, while the SAS and SDS scores were lower than those of the control group. Physiological function, psychological function, social function, and disease symptoms were all better than those of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Humanistic care nursing can effectively improve the treatment compliance and self-efficacy of patients with chronic liver disease in the infectious disease department, alleviate negative emotions such as anxiety and depression, and comprehensively improve their quality of life. It conforms to the nursing concept of "patient-centered" and is worthy of clinical promotion.
