[Abstract] Objective: To compare differences between repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with paliperidone extended release tablets andunique paliperidone extended release tablets on efficacy, safety, mental state and social functions recovery in the treatment of patients with schizophrenia ,provides the reference for clinical treatment options. Methods: 88 eligible patients with schizophrenia were randomly divided into study group and control group, these cases were treated for 4 weeks. Before treatment and after the treatment at the end of the first weekend, 2 weekend, 4 weekend, the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) and the reduction rate assess the efficacy, Treatment Emergent Sysptom Scale (TESS) assess adverse reactions, Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE)assess mental state,Personal and Social Performance scale (PSP) assess the patients social function. Results: After treatment, compared with before treatment in each group, PANSS, MMSE and PSP showed significant improvement at various time points , with a statistically significant(P <0.05); between the two groups, PANSS, MMSE and PSP scores difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05)at 2 weekend and 4 weekend. To the end of treatment, the difference of PANSS reduction rate and efficacy was statistically significant in both groups (P <0.05), TESS scores was not significant difference (P> 0.05) between the two groups, repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation and paliperidone extended release tablets are It is safe and well tolerated. Conclusion: Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with paliperidone extended release tablets than the single use of paliperidone extended release tablets in efficacy, mental state recovery, social function recovery exists superiority, side effects were not significant difference.
