Objective To analyze the clinical application effect of enhanced cognitive nursing for patients undergoing endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) during the perioperative period. Methods A total of 100 patients who underwent ERCP surgery from August 2023 to August 2025 were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group using a random number table method, with 50 patients in each group. The control group received routine nursing care, while the observation group received enhanced cognitive nursing intervention. The nursing results of the two groups were compared and analyzed in detail. Results After nursing, the health knowledge mastery and nursing treatment compliance of the observation group patients were significantly improved compared with the control group. The patients’ anxiety was significantly lighter than that of the control group, and the postoperative pain level was milder than that of the control group. The incidence of complications was lower than that of the control group, and the final quality of life was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Timely implementation of enhanced cognitive nursing interventions for ERCP patients can effectively enhance their awareness and cooperation, improve their negative emotions, alleviate postoperative pain, reduce the occurrence of complications, and improve their quality of life.
