Objective To explore the application effect of high-quality nursing intervention throughout the entire process in patients with severe sepsis in the infectious disease department, and analyze its impact on patient prognosis indicators and nursing satisfaction. Methods 80 patients with severe sepsis admitted to the Infectious Diseases Department of our hospital from March 2020 to March 2025 were selected as the research subjects. They were randomly divided into two groups using a random number table method. The control group received routine nursing care in the Infectious Diseases Department, while the observation group received high-quality nursing intervention throughout the entire process on the basis of the control group. Compare two groups of prognostic indicators, nursing satisfaction, and incidence of complications. Results Compared with the control group, the observation group showed a decreasing trend in both mechanical ventilation time and ICU hospitalization time, and the 28 day mortality rate was lower than that of the control group; Compared to the control group, the observation group showed higher satisfaction with nursing care; Compared with the control group, the observation group had a lower overall incidence of complications (P<0.05). Conclusion Implementing high-quality nursing interventions throughout the entire process for patients with severe sepsis in the infectious disease department can effectively shorten their ICU stay and mechanical ventilation time, reduce 28 day mortality rate, improve prognosis, and enhance nursing satisfaction. It has high clinical promotion value.
