【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the effect of positive psychological intervention on compliance with drug therapy and behavioral psychogical symptoms of dementia (BPSD) in patients with Alzheimers Disease (AD). Methods 94 cases of AD patients were randomly divided into two groups: The control group (n=47) received routine nursing,the observation group (n=47) received positive psychological intervention on the basis of control group for 8 weeks.The Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), Alzheimers Disease Assessment Scale (ADAS) and Quality of Life-Alzheimers Disease (QOL-AD) were evaluated,the compliance with drug therapy were compared between the two groups. Results After invention,the scores of ADAS were significantly decreased, scores of MMSE and QOL-AD were significantly improved in the two groups, the improvements in the observation group were significantly better than the control group (P<0.05). The compliance rate of drug therapy in observation group was significantly higher than the control group (95.74% vs 82.98%,P<0.05). Conclusion Positive psychological intervention can effectively improve the compliance of drug therapy of AD patients, improve the BPSD symptoms and quality of life.
