【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of eseitalopram oxalate combined with lamotrigine (LTG) in the treatment of epilepsy children with depression.Methods A total of 82 cases of epilepsy children with depression were randomly divided into observation group (n=41) and control group (n=41). The control group received LTG therapy,the observation group received LTG and eseitalopram oxalate therapy for 8 weeks.The anti-epileptic effect between the two groups were compared,the scores of Hamilton Depression Scale -24 items (HAMD-24) were evaluated at before treatment and 2th, 4th, 6th and 8th weeks of treatment,the scores of Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale (TESS) were evaluated at2th, 4th, 6th and 8th weeks of treatment. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.12%(39/41),which was significantly higher than that of the control group (78.05% (32/41) (P<0.05). At 2th, 4th, 6th and 8th weeks of treatment, the HAMD-24 scores in observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05),while there were no significant differences in TESS scores between the two groups (P>0.05),and the adverse reaction rate between the two groups was no significant difference (P>0.05). Conclusion The application of escitalopram oxalate combined with LTG in the treatment of epilepsy children with depression has a quick therapeatic effect and effective effect, which can effectively control the epilepsy and improve the symptoms of depression.
