Abstract: Objective: Objective to study the efficacy and safety of escitalopram combined with rehabilitation training in the treatment of post-stroke depression in the elderly.Methods: Select 120 cases in our hospital in January 2013 -2016 year in December were elderly patients with depression after stroke were randomly divided into control group, and observation group with 60 cases in each group, the control group was given routine treatment of stroke and escitalopram, based on the observation group in the control group with rehabilitation training, using Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), quality of life scale (QOL) and side effects scale (TESS) score of patients, adverse reactions and curative effect evaluation.Results: Before treatment, two patients in the HAMD group, the QOL score had no difference (P > 0.05); after treatment, HAMD scores of the two groups were significantly decreased, and the patients in the observation group after fourth, eighth week of treatment, HAMD scores were lower than the control group, the observation group patients was 96.7% higher than that of the control group 81.7%, two groups of patients QOL scores were increased. And the patients in the observation group fourth, eighth weeks after treatment QOL score were higher than the control group. The difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05); the control group adverse reaction rates was 28.3% higher than 10% in the observation group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05).Conclusion:The curative effect of escitalopram combined with rehabilitation training in elderly patients with post-stroke depression is remarkable, with less adverse reactions, which can improve the quality of life of patients, and is worthy of clinical promotion.
