Abstract: Objective To investigate the correlation between serum inflammatory factors and anxiety and depression in elderly patients with stroke. Methods 227 cases of elderly patients with stroke were selected as the research objectives from the second department of Neurology of the second people’s hospital of Jiaozuo from January 2015 to June 2017. Their serum interleukin -6 (IL-6), IL-8, IL-10, high sensitive C reactive protein (hs-CRP), tumor necrosis factor α(TNF-α), soluble interleukin -2 receptor (SIL-2R) and the Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) and the Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) scores were measured and compared with. Results The higher the anxiety and depression in elderly stroke patients were, the higher the serum IL-6, IL-10, hs-CRP, TNF- alpha and SIL-2R were (P<0.05), and the lower the IL-10 was (P<0.05). HAMA in elderly patients with stroke score, HAMD score and IL-6, IL-8, hs-CRP and SIL-2R had significant positive correlation (P<0.05, HAMA) the HAMD score and IL-10 had significant negative correlation (P<0.05). Conclusion Proinflammatory factors IL-6, IL-8, hs-CRP and SIL-2R can promote anxiety and depression in elderly patients with stroke, while anti inflammation factor IL-10 can inhibit anxiety and depression in elderly stroke patients
