Objective To explore the depression status and related factors of patients with heart failure. Method By using homemade general characteristics record sheet and Centre of Epidemiological Studies-Depression scale (CES-D),the depressive status of 132 patients with heart failure were assessed. Results Incidence of depressive of heart failure patients was 49.2%,and the CES-D score was 15.96±8.71, both them were higher than city norm (χ2=14.95,P<0.001;t=3.02,P=0.003); The incidence of depressive of heart failure patients complicated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), hypertension, and the level of serum 25(OH)D <50 nmol/L were higher than the heart failure patients without COPD, hypertension, and the level of serum 25(OH)D≥50 nmol/L (χ2=4.78, P=0.029; χ2=5.92, P=0.015; χ2=18.69, P<0.001 ); Compared with patients without depressive symptoms, the level of serum 25(OH) D of patients with depressive symptoms was lower (t=-9.53, P<0.001), and the level of serum NT-proBNP of patients with depressive symptoms was higher (t=6.10, P<0.001); There was negative correlation between the serum 25(OH)D and CES-D score (r=-0.31, P=0.014), and there was positively correlation between the serum NT-proBNP and CES-D score (r=0.29, P=0.006). Conclusion The depressive status in patients with heart failure was poor; The risk factors for depression of patients with heart failure were with COPD or hypertension, the level of serum 25(OH)D become lower (<50 nmol/L) ,and the level of serum NT-proBNP increased.
