Objective: To investigate the effects of quetiapine combined with aripiprazole and quetiapine alone on fasting blood glucose and blood lipids of patients with schizophrenia. Methods: Sixty cases of patients with schizophrenia in our hospital from August 2016 to August 2018 were randomly selected and randomly divided into two groups: a group of quetiapine and aripiprazole (combined group, 30 cases), a group of quetiapine (single-use group, 30 cases), the fasting blood glucose, blood lipids, PANSS scores, clinical efficacy and adverse reactions of the two groups were statistically analyzed. Results: The GLU, TG, and LDL levels of the combination group were significantly lower than the single-use group (P<0.05). The G, N, P scores and PANSS total score were significantly lower than the single-use group (P<0.05). The total effective rate of treatment 93.3% (28/30) was significantly higher than the single-use group 76.7% (23/30)) (P<0.05). The difference of incidences of adverse reactions between the two groups 13.3% (4/30), 13.3% (4/30) was not significant (P>0.05). Conclusion: The combination of quetiapine and aripiprazole has less effect on fasting blood glucose and blood lipid of patients with schizophrenia than quetiapine alone.
