【Abstract】Objective To investigate the effect of escitalopram oxalate combined with lamotrigine on adverse mental state and nerve function in patients with epilepsy comorbid depression after stroke. Methods 84 patients with post-stroke epilepsy comorbidity and depression in our hospital from September 2018 to September 2019 were selected as the research objects, and they were divided into a control group and a research group according to random number table method. 41 cases in the control group were treated with lamotrigine, and 43 cases in the study group were treated with escitalopram oxalate for 12 weeks. Compare the frequency of seizures before and after treatment in two groups of patients, Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), American Hospital Stroke Scale (NIHSS), daily living activity capacity (ADL) and serum neurotransmitter levels: 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) , Nerve growth factor (NGF), brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). Results: After treatment, the seizure frequency, HAMD and NIHSS scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the ADL scores, 5-HT, NGF, and BDNF levels were higher than the control group, which was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: The combination of escitalopram oxalate and lamotrigine in patients with post-stroke epilepsy comorbid depression can reduce the frequency of seizures, promote the recovery of nerve function, enhance the ability of daily life activities, and effectively improve the symptoms of depression.
